This week, the Kannada box office is buzzing with a cool variety of films. Whether you're into festival favorites, horror, romantic dramas, or comedies, there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy in theaters. On the OTT side, the major releases are mostly from other languages, but they’ll come with Kannada audio options too.

Mithya

Sumanth Bhat is making his directorial debut with Mithya, a film that had a great run at festivals and is now hitting the big screen. Produced by Rakshit Shetty, it tells the story of an 11-year-old boy dealing with the heartbreak of losing his parents, being uprooted from his home, and navigating a custody struggle between his dad and his mom's family.

Rakshasa

A Brahmarakshasa demon breaks free from its locked-up prison in a police station, causing total mayhem. Officer Sathya (Prajwal Devaraj) finds himself facing this menace all on his own. As he fights to stay alive against the demon's increasing strength, Sathya starts to unravel the conspiracy that led to his downfall. The film also features Sonal Monteiro, KS Sridhar, Shobraj, Arna Rathod, and more, directed by Lohith H.

Soori Loves Sandhya

Once Suri gets out of Bangalore Central Jail, he’s on a mission to find Sandhya, the love of his life. However, he’s got a big obstacle to overcome: Sandhya’s older brother, Gadda Viji, who is super protective and totally against their relationship.

Interval

A fun and quirky comedy-drama follows three village boys who accidentally graduate and suddenly find themselves navigating the wild world outside their small town. As they tackle a bunch of surprising challenges, they leave their village behind and venture into the city, excited to land jobs and discover their paths in life. The film features Shashi Raj, Prajwal Kumar, Sukesh Suki, Sahana Aradhya, Charithra Rao, and Ranganath Shivamogga, among others.

Kapati

Chethan SP and Ravikiran D are at the helm of Kapati, which has the support of filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan. The film weaves together two storylines: one centers on Priya (Sukrutha Wagle), who’s dealing with some strange occurrences, while the other follows two young people who take advantage of the internet's anonymity to build their wealth.

Vidaamuyarchi

Ajith and Trisha star as a couple on the brink of divorce, and their final trip together takes a dark turn when she suddenly disappears, pushing him into a frenzy. This Tamil film is an unofficial remake of Breakdown and also comes with Kannada audio options.

Rekhachithram

Asif Ali is back in his cop role in this Malayalam thriller, where he takes on a 40-year-old cold case after a dying man's confession on social media about a crime he committed years ago. The cast includes Anaswara Rajan, Siddique, Indrans, Harishree Ashokan, Saikumar, and Manoj K Jayan, among others. You can also catch it in Kannada audio.

Thandel

Nagachaitanya and Sai Pallavi come together in this romantic tale where he portrays a fisherman who unintentionally wanders into Pakistani waters and gets caught. Is this the final chapter for their romance, or can they navigate the challenges and find their happily-ever-after? Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, this film will also be available with Kannada audio.

Kudumbasthan

Naveen (played by Manikandan) is the main breadwinner for his family, which consists of his wife Vennila (Saanve Megghana), whom he ran away with, and his parents. After a big argument at work where he stands his ground and refuses to say sorry for something he believes he didn’t do, Naveen ends up getting fired. The comedy follows his journey as he navigates these tough times and works to get his life back in order.
