Kanguva, the highly anticipated project which stars Suriya in the lead role, is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2024. The period fantasy film directed by Siva was originally supposed to hit the big screens on October 10, 2024, as an Ayudha Pooja special release. However, the recent updates suggest that the Kanguva release has been postponed, to avoid the clash with Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan. The makers are now busy finalising a new release date for the Suriya starrer.

Kanguva release postponed?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the release of Kanguva has been pushed to October 10, 2024. The makers reportedly decided to postpone the release of the Suriya starrer, to avoid the massive box office with Vettaiyan, the upcoming 170th project of superstar Rajinikanth. Even though Gnanavel Raja, the producer of the Siva directorial hit the same in a recent interview, the makers have not officially announced the same, yet. 

Kanguva to hit the theatres in November 2024?

The grapevine suggests that the makers of Kanguva are now keen to release the Suriya starrer in November 2024. According to the rumour mills, the period fantasy film is gearing up to have its grand theatrical release on November 31, 2024, on the special occasion of Deepavali. However, the makers will officially announce the new release date of Kanguva, only after things are finalised. The new update, however, has left the Suriya fans highly disappointed.

According to the reports, Suriya is appearing in a double role in Kanguva, which features Disha Patani as the female lead. Bobby Deol appears as the lead antagonist in the film, which stars Kovai Sarala, Jisshu Sengupta, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natarajan Subramaniam, Anand Raj, Ravi Raghavendra, KS Ravikumar, Deepa Venkat, and others in supporting roles. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the songs and original score. Vetri Palanisamy is the director of photography. The period fantasy film is jointly produced by the banners Studio Green and UV Creations.
