Kanguva: Suriya, Siva’s film to have a massive release globally; massive opening on cards?

Suriya is joining hands with hitmaker Siva for his next outing, Kanguva. The highly anticipated project, which is touted to be a period fantasy thriller, has been slated to hit the theatres on November 14, 2024. As reported earlier, Suriya is set to play a double role in the film, which is expected to be released in eight languages. According to the latest updates, Kanguva is now set to emerge as the biggest-ever release in the history of the Tamil film industry.
Kanguva to release in 10000 screens?
At a recent, G Dhanenjayan, who has produced Kanguva under the banner Studio Green, dropped an highly exciting update on the Suriya starrer’s release. According to the producer, the Siva directorial has been slated to be released on around 10,000 screens, across the globe. Interestingly, Dhanenjayan revealed that around 700 screens have been confirmed for the release, in Tamil Nadu alone. When it comes to South India, the total screen count has already crossed 2500.
Kanguva is confirmed to have around 3000 to 3500 screens across the North Indian states. The proud producer announced that around 4000 plus screens are expected in the rest of the world market, and the total theatre now stands at 10,000. If this becomes a reality, the Suriya starrer is confirmed to get the biggest-ever theatrical release in the history of the Tamil film industry. In that case, the period fantasy film will definitely have a triple-digit opening at the box office, on its release day.
Suriya’s roles in Kanguva
As reported earleir, Suriya is playing a double role in Kanguva, which marks his first collaboration with Siva. The actor is playing the titular character Kanguva, a fearless leader of a tribe that lived in the medieval ages. His second character in the film is Francis Theodore, a shadow cop and bounty hunter, who lives in the modern-day Goa. The movie is majorly set in the period times, and the modern-day portions will have a lesser screentime.
