Kanguva OTT release: The fantasy action drama featuring Suriya and Bobby Deol is poised for its OTT debut following a lacklustre performance at the box office. On Friday, Prime Video announced via its official Instagram account that Kanguva will commence streaming on December 8, albeit with a notable caveat.

Kanguva OTT release

In a post showcasing the Kanguva poster featuring Suriya and Bobby Deol, Prime Video stated, "A tale as old as time & a LEGACY that lives on KANGUVA arrives to settle it all. #KanguvaOnPrime, December 8." However, the film will only be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. This release comes less than a month after its theatrical debut. Following the announcement, many netizens expressed their disappointment regarding the absence of a Hindi version.

Kanguva premiered in theatres on November 14 and received a mixed reception from audiences. While many viewers praised Suriya's performance in the fantasy period drama, the film faced criticism for its excessive volume. This mixed feedback adversely impacted its box office performance. With a production budget of ₹350 crore, Kanguva garnered only ₹106 crore globally. When asked about the film's potential to surpass the ₹1000 crore milestone, producer KE Gnanavel Raja remarked to Galatta, "I am expecting ₹2000 crore box office collection, and why are you underestimating it with ₹1000 crore mark." Nevertheless, the film did not fulfil the audience's expectations.
