Kangana announces Emergency's OTT release
Kangana recently re-shared a post from her fans on her social media platform, which included collages of herself and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Accompanying the post, she stated, "17th March releasing on @netflix." Viewers will be able to watch Emergency on Netflix starting March 17, following its theatrical release on January 17 of this year, where it grossed ₹21.65 crore in India.

About Emergency
In the film Emergency, Kangana played the character of Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. The narrative focuses on the significant Emergency period that Indira Gandhi declared from 1975 to 1977. In addition to her acting role, Kangana also took on the responsibility of directing the film. The cast of Emergency includes notable actors such as Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.
Emergency row
Emergency encountered delays in its release, faced censorship challenges, and experienced protests from Sikh organizations due to claims of misrepresenting facts. In August of the previous year, the SGPC issued a legal notice to the film's producers, asserting that it "misrepresented" the character and history of Sikhs, and requested the removal of scenes deemed objectionable for portraying "anti-Sikh" sentiments.
