Following the success of the first two seasons of its campus-bound Kanaa Kaanum Kaalanagal, streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar has announced the renewal of the third season of the web series.

Disney+ Hotstar renews Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal

Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal first aired on Star Vijay as a television series back in 2006. The show was set on a school campus and revolved around two rival student gangs and their lives as they explored friendship, love and careers. Eventually, it was rebooted and premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. The show was an instant hit among the young audience, and subsequently, the streaming platform released the second season of the show on April 21, 2023.

Following this, the streaming platform has announced the renewal of third season on Thursday. Much like the first two seasons, the upcoming instalment is also expected to revolve around lives of school students. The show is expected to feature fresh faces, and be an emotional rollercoaster ride. Disney+ Hotstar is expected to reveal the cast and crew as the series will begin rolling soon. A release date for the series is yet to be announced.

Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal is a coming-of-age teen drama that is a reboot of the 2006 television series by the same name. The web series ran for two seasons; besides the several seasons, it premiered on television.

Each season featured a different cast. The first season consisted of 132 episodes, while the second had 112 episodes. The series stars Teja Venkatesh, Raja Vetri Prabhu, Aravind Seiju, Deepika Venkatachalam, Aashik Gopinath, while VJ Sangeetha, Irfan, Rajesh, Bharath Kumar, Deepika Damu, Akshathaa Ajit, Pranika, Pragateesh, Aegan, VJ Kalyani, Surendar KPY, Parvez Musharaf and others appear in supporting roles.
