Actor Silambarasan, who is commemorating his birthday on Monday, took to social media to share an exciting new development. He will be assuming the role of producer under his newly established banner, Atman Cine Arts, and has announced his 50th project, titled STR 50.

Directed by filmmaker Desingh Periyasamy, this project appears to be a revival of what was previously announced as STR 48 under Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.

STR 50: Simbu takes over production from Kamal Haasan

Previously, it was reported that Simbu would collaborate with Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International for a project directed by Desingh Periyasamy. However, as time progressed, there was no further information regarding the project, and it did not materialize. On Monday, coinciding with Silambarasan’s birthday, the actor announced the revival of this project under his own banner, Atman Cine Arts.

Now titled STR 50, this significant film will be produced by the actor himself. “I’m thrilled to announce that I am embarking on a new journey as a producer with @Atman_cinearts. There is no better way to commence this than with my 50th film, a dream project for both myself and @desingh_dp. We are dedicating ourselves to this endeavor! I look forward to your continued love and support,” the actor stated while revealing the first look poster.

All you need to know about STR 50

The poster for STR 50 features a young boy resembling Simbu, holding a burning stick. The film, written and directed by Desingh Periyasamy, will feature music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography by Manoj Paramhamsa. The technical team also includes Praveen Antony as the editor and Kevin Kumar coordinating the stunts.

A release date for the film has yet to be announced.
