The upcoming GV Prakash Kumar-starrer Kalvan is gearing up for its theatrical release on April 4. The adventure drama, directed by cinematographer PV Shankar, revolves around two thieves who are on a mission to steal something from a forest, where there is a dangerous herd of elephants. The title of the film translates to ‘thieves’ and has Dheena, Bharathiraja and Ivana playing prominent roles in the film.  

Kalvan plot  

The upcoming GV Prakash-starrer revolves around poaching and how two thieves are trying to steal something precious from the forest. The film is also expected to shed light on ecological preservation. The film stars actress Ivana, who appears to be playing GV Prakash’s romantic interest.  

Kalvan Trailer - GV Prakash plays a thief

The trailer of the film opens with a person warning the villagers that a huge herd of elephants has entered the forest, posing a threat to their lives and occupation. The trailer reveals that many people, who guarded the forest, have been killed by these elephants. Then the trailer introduces GV Prakash’s character along with Dheena and Bharathiraja who prepare themselves to enter the forest to steal something. Although there is a possibility that they might be trying to steal the tusks of elephants, the trailer also showcases an elephant foot being wrapped in a cloth. Later the trailer showcases how the pair go ahead with the plan despite warming from officials. The rest of the trailer shows what happens when they are unable to complete the mission due to the dangerous elephants surrounding the forest. 

Kalvan OTT partner

The digital rights of Kalvan have been acquired by Disney+ Hotstar and will be available for streaming on the OTT platform post its theatrical run. 

Kalvan cast and crew

Apart from GV Prakash Kumar, the film also stars Bharathiraja, Ivana, Dheena, G Gnanasambandam, and Vinoth Munna, among others. The film is bankrolled by G Dilli Babu under Axess Film Factory. The camera work is handled by director Shankar himself, while the story is co-written by Ramesh Aiyappan. SJ Arjun and Sivakumar Murugesan have worked on the additional screenplay of the film. Raymond Derrick Crasta has edited Kalvan. 

Kalvan’s budget

Although not confirmed officially, a few sources state that the film has been made on a budget of 10 crore.
