Kalki 2898 AD has finally hit theatres. With the film getting positive response from all corners, the Nag Ashwin directorial has left no stone unturned to present magnificence in every frame of the film. Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and others, the film’s main antagonist is played by Kamal Haasan.

Kamal Haasan plays the Supreme Yaskin, a god-like supreme power who is greedy for immortality and wants to get hold a serum that can give him an endless lifetime. How Kalki 2898 AD completes Kamal Haasan’s Dasavathaaram?

For the unversed, Kamal Haasan starred in the 2008 Tamil film Dasavathaaram, in which he played 10 different characters with distinct appearances. The title refers to Hindu deity Vishnu’s set of ten reincarnations. With nine avatars already said to be taken, as per the Hindu mythology, the tenth avatar, Kalki is supposed to appear during the end of Kali Yug era.

However, it is interesting to note that in a cinematic twist, Kamal Haasan who starred in Kalki 2898 AD, which is supposed to talk about the final reincarnation, has completed the cycle by being part of the Nag Ashwin film.

Dasavathaaram is directed by KS Ravikumar with the script written by Kamal Haasan. The film is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium.

Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film also stars an ensemble cast, including actors Asin, Jaya Prada, Mallika Sherawat, K. R. Vijaya, Rekha Harris, Nagesh, P. Vasu, Raghuram, Napoleon and M. S. Bhaskar.

The film revolves around a scientist who is in race against the time to stop the spread of virus which can cause a catastrophe if reached in wrong hands. At the same time, an American mercenary is in search of the vial for his own selfish reasons. The rest of the film revolves around how the different characters come together during the day which marks the 2004 Tsunami disaster took place.
