Kalki 2898 AD worldwide box office day 11 - Filmmaker Nag Ashwin's magnum opus project continues to set the cash registers ringing. Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi epic, had its theatrical release on June 27, 2024. Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, the film has emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies of the year so far. After 11 days at the worldwide box office, Kalki 2898 AD has now crossed the Rs 900-crore (gross) mark overseas.

The makers of Kalki 2898 AD shared the global box office update of the movie on social media. Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house that backed the Nag Ashwin film, revealed that the movie has raced past the Rs 900 crore (gross) mark at the worldwide box office. While sharing this update on the gram, the production banner mentioned, "Raging towards the magical milestone…(sic)."

For those who are unaware, Kalki 2898 AD is now eyeing to break Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film Animal's global box office record. The lifetime worldwide collection of Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandann's Animal is Rs 917.82 crore (gross). The movie hit the silver screen in December 2023.

Nag Ashwin shares an update about Kalki 2898 AD's sequel

Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Nag Ashwin shared an update about Kalki 2. The filmmaker denied rumours of the sequel already being 60% shot. He said, "There’s still so much prep left to do in terms of just again designing and action. The whole thing starts again. It’s a long journey to just prep before we even start getting actors back on set."

The director added that Kalki 2898 AD's sequel has been only shot for 25 to 30 days so far and there's a lot left to be shot. Talking about the first installment, it had special appearances of SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, and Ram Gopal Varma.
