An update on Kalki 2898 AD, the recently released Telugu film starring Prabhas in the lead role, is here! The producer of the film, Swapna Dutt, has announced that the film will go on floors very soon. Besides Prabhas, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in prominent roles.

Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most expensive Indian films to be ever made. The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin and boasts a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. While the first part released some time ago and is available for streaming, Kalki 2898 AD ended on a cliff-hanger note. A sequel for the film is in works with producer Swapna Dutt giving an update.
The producer said that Kalki 2898 AD sequel will begin from January or February next year, and will take about three years to complete, with the possibility that the film will be finished by 2028. However, Swapna did not give an exact release date or plot of the sequel.
Kalki 2898 AD is set in far future and dystopian setting against the backdrop of Kashi. The film intersperses Hindu myth and futuristic elements to tell a story of the tenth reincarnation of Lord Vishnu as Kalki. Kamal Haasan plays the antagonist in the film, with Amitabh Bachchan playing the Mahabharat character Ashwathama.

The film also features Pasupathy, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, and others. Besides them, it also has cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, SS Rajamouli, and Ram Gopal Varma. Actor Keerthy Suresh lent her voice for the BOT Bujji which appears in the film.
You can stream Kalki 2898 AD in all southern Indian languages on Prime Video, and in Hindi on Netflix. Vyjayanthi Films h as backed the film, which has music by Santhosh Narayanan. Kalki 2898 AD was a commercial success and received positive responses from critics.
