Kalki 2898 AD wrapped up as a huge success, raking in more than ₹1000 crore at the box office. Everyone's now eagerly waiting for the sequel, but details about it are still pretty scarce. Recently, OTTplay shared that filming for the second part is expected to kick off in June 2025.

In a thrilling update, Nag Ashwin, the director, has shared some news about the sequel and when we might see it hit theaters. During a recent online chat, he mentioned that the sequel is expected to come out by the end of 2026. He explained, "We’re aiming to start filming in the latter half of 2025, depending on when Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are free, as they’re currently tied up with other projects. It’ll take a bit of time to get the film out, but we’re targeting December 2026 for the release."

The iconic Telugu film producer Ashwini Dutt, together with his daughters Swapna and Priyanka Dutt, is set to finance the sequel. Kalki 2898 AD is a social fantasy movie featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan.

The movie just had its premiere in Japan and the audience really seemed to enjoy it. Still, some folks have pointed out that Prabhas didn’t get to shine as much as he could have in the first part. But Nag Ashwin has assured everyone that in the sequel, Prabhas will go into "beast mode" and take on legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan..

There are whispers going around that the sequel will introduce some fresh characters, but the creators are keeping that info close to the chest for the time being. Nag Ashwin, a big name in Indian cinema, is famous for taking his time with projects. Because of this, many people think that Kalki 2898 AD's sequel could be delayed.
