Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit screens on June 27, 2024, on a massive scale. The advance bookings are on fire, and the pre-sales have touched a record $3 million in the US. Kalki is having a 3D and IMAX release, but news has come out that the IMAX shows in many parts of the world have been cancelled.

IMAX shows of Kalki cancelled in the last minute

One of the exhibitors in Mumbai and Canada received calls from the distributors to stop selling tickets for the IMAX version of Kalki. We have spoken to one of the team members of the film, and he has confirmed the same.

As there are some glitches in the IMAX version, post-production is taking a lot of time, and that is the reason the IMAX release has been postponed as of now. In the days to come, when all things are cleared, Kalki will have an IMAX release as well.

But the bookings for the 3D version are huge, as per the news. There is also a section of people who do not want to watch the film in 3D, as the theatres in Telugu states are not equipped properly to screen 3D films.

Kalki 2898 AD has been directed by Nag Ashwin, who last made the award-winning film Mahanati. A lot of hope has been pinned on him, as he is rated as one of the best in Telugu cinema. With so many stars seen in key roles in this film, the audience will have a blast on screen.

Vyjayanthi Movies is the production house of Kalki and has spent a whopping Rs 350 crore on the film. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music and the likes of Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salmaan will be seen in key roles in this film. Watch this space for more updates on this magnum opus.
