While Stree 2, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor is trending, there’s another movie which promises something similar. That is Riteish Deshmukh-Sonakshi Sinha-Saqib Saleem’s upcoming movie, Kakuda. The film promises to be the male version of the popular horror-comedy which entertained us in 2018. A new promo released by the makers hints at the same.

Male version of Stree?

“Ab Mard Khatre Mein Hai,” is literally the tagline of Kakuda. Sharing the new promo, which is as related to doors as Stree, the makers wrote, “Usey darwaza band mila, toh woh knock nahi, mardon ko knock-out kar dega!” This is similar to the door concept in Stree. There, they asked the villagers to keep the doors closed and write, “O Stree Kal Aana.”

Darwaaza khula rakhna warna…

The promo of Kakuda shows us the tagline, “Darwaaza khula rakhna warna…” Just behind that is a door where a rotten body hangs. Soon after, you read, “Kakuda Aa Jaayega!”

More about Kakuda

Set in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district Ratodi, Kakuda is about a curse inflicted upon the village. Every house in this village has two doors, one that is normal and the other that is small. You need to pick the correct one or face the consequences. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar (of Munjya fame), the movie is penned by Avinash Diwedi and Chirag Garg, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Aditya’s Munjya is the latest offering in the horror-comedy genre (released on June 7) and the Abhay Verma-Sharvari starrer is performing well at the Box Office.

The teaser for Stree 2 was also unveiled earlier this week. Tamannaah has joined the cast, including Rajkummar, Shraddha, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, this time around. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 15. Stree and Munjya are a part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy Universe. Apart from the two movies, it also includes Janhvi Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao-Varun Sharma’s Roohi and Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon’s Bhediya.
