Aditya Sarpotdar's spooky comedy Kakuda recently had its direct-to-OTT release. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem in the lead roles, the film's story is about a ghost in the cursed village of Ratodi. After Kakuda dropped on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium, Saqib shared his experience of working on the film. While speaking with Mid-Day, the actor also opened up about wearing a 4-kg prosthetic hump on his back.

For starters, Saqib Saleem's character Sunny gets a hump on his back after he is attacked by the ghost Kakuda in the film. Hence, the actor had to sport a four-kilo prosthetic hump in the Aditya Sarpotdar directorial.

Saqib spoke to the tabloid about the physicality of his character, especially the weight and discomfort of the 4-kg prosthetic hump, which pushed him to his limits.

"There were days when the physical pain was intense, but the challenge of transforming into this character was rewarding. It required a blend of physical endurance and emotional depth. I had to find a balance between horror and comedy, ensuring that the audience empathised and were amused by my character," said Saqib.

Kakuda's achievements

Meanwhile, Kakuda clocked over 100 million streaming minutes on ZEE5. The streaming platform shared this update on Instagram with a caption that read, "It was indeed a fun and chilling weekend, with Kakuda taking over! Over 100 million watch minutes just on the launch weekend! (sic)."

Apart from this, the film became the number 1 most searched comedy on Google. The horror comedy unlocked these achievements within four days of its OTT premiere. In Kakuda, Sonakshi is seen as Indira/Gomati while Riteish Deshmukh plays the role of a ghost hunter.
