Kajol is currently gearing up for her upcoming film titled Do Patti. The film is set to release on Netflix and also stars Kriti Sanon alongside the actress. While the actress has spent several decades in the industry now, did you know she once decided to quit acting? Yes! You read that right! Kajol recently revealed that during her initial phase as an actor, she considered quitting acting. However, Shah Rukh Khan was the one who inspired her to continue her passion. Here's what he said! 

Kajol reveals why she wanted to quit acting!

In a recent interview with India Today, Kajol reflected on her struggles just after the release of her third film where she decided that she must quit acting. She said, “So I did a film long back called Udhaar Ki Zindagi. That was, I think, my third film. I was very new. I must have been about 17 or 18 at that time. And I remember, I finished the film. And I remember before that, Shah Rukh was like, ‘you know you just have to learn how to act’.”

She further revealed that she thought to herself what is Shah Rukh Khan talking about as she thought she was doing a fabulous job. But when she acted in a film titled Udhaar Ki Zindagi, she told her mother after finishing the shoot, "You know, mom, I'm done. Wow. I'm burnt out. At the tender age of 18-and-a-half, I am done. I cannot move anymore. I cannot cry anymore. I cannot put glycerine anymore. I can't, I don't want to do these films anymore. I want to do, you know, four scenes, ten songs.' 

She then revealed that she then signed four films including Gunda Raj and Hulchul. "I wanted to do such films. And I signed four films like that. So that's where Gunda Raj, Hulchul, all these films came out from. I learnt the technique of acting after that.”

On the professional front, after working together in the film Dilwale, Kajol is reuniting with Kriti Sanon for her upcoming film Do Patti. The film, which is written by Kanika Kapoor is also co-produced by Kriti. It also featured Shaheer Sheikh and Tanvi Azmi in important parts and id directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. Do Patti will be released on Netflix on October 25, 2024.
