Maa's first look just dropped! Directed by Vishal Furia and starring Kajol, this film is being called the ‘ultimate battle of good vs evil.’ It's set to hit theaters this year in four different languages. Kajol even shared a video on Instagram to give fans a sneak peek into the film’s storyline.

First impression of Maa

Kajol just dropped the first look of her upcoming movie, Maa, on Instagram, announcing that it hits theaters on June 27 this year. She captioned it, “Hell is here… so is the Goddess! The battle kicks off on June 27, 2025, in cinemas near you. #Maa #Maa27June. #jyotideshpande @kumarmangatpathak @furia_vishal @danishdevgn.” The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.

In the first look, Kajol is seen with a child, standing between a demon and a Goddess. She has a fierce expression as she holds her frightened child, ready to face whatever comes their way. The movie is being described as a mythological horror that delves into the age-old struggle between good and evil, according to the filmmakers.

Fans were super excited to see Hindi cinema diving into fresh genres. One fan said, “It’s awesome that Bollywood is moving away from the usual family dramas. Maa comes from the creators of the popular 2024 movie Shaitaan. It's brought to you by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, with Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande producing, and Kumar Mangat Pathak co-producing. Directed by Vishal and penned by Saiwyn Quadras, the film features Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in significant roles. According to a press release from the filmmakers, “Maa delves into the classic struggle between good and evil, packed with thrilling suspense and powerful drama.”
