KA is Kiran Abbavaram's new film, made on a relatively low budget. However, the makers promoted the film as if it were a major production. They also made a bold move by releasing KA on October 31, 2024, alongside Dulquer Salmaan's big release, Lucky Baskhar.
KA's latest collections details are here
When the release date was announced, many trolled Kiran Abbavaram for making such a brave decision. But Kiran and his team stood firm on the chosen date. Things escalated when Kiran and his team premiered the film a day in advance. This worked in their favor, as KA started with positive word of mouth.
The momentum carried over to the release date, and within a few shows, the strong reception spread, leading to solid occupancy. Despite the competition, KA has achieved impressive numbers. As of the latest update, KA has grossed Rs 32 crore worldwide. This is a huge figure, considering Kiran Abbavaram's market reach.
The film needed to make Rs 12 crore to break even, and now, as it approaches the Rs 40 crore mark, it has generated substantial profits for the makers. Tanvi Ram and Nayan Sarika played the female leads in this period drama, which follows a postman who arrives in a village and becomes entangled in its strange happenings. Kiran Abbavaram co-produced the film and will also see handsome profits.
In comparison to the other two releases, Lucky Baskhar and Amaran, KA is a big hit due to its low budget and high-profit margin. Kiran Abbavaram made bold claims before the release, stating that if KA didn’t perform at the box office, he would stop making films. He was trolled for these statements, but now that the film is a success, he’s having the last laugh.
KA was directed by the duo Sujith and Sandeep, marking their debut. Their gripping narration has impressed audiences across the board. In the US as well, KA has grossed over half a million dollars, a substantial achievement for Kiran's overseas market. Meanwhile, KA will also have a sequel, and it remains to be seen how everything will unfold in the days to come.
