Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s film JugJugg Jeeyo, released in the middle of the pandemic, bringing a smile to people’s faces. The makers are now reportedly planning a sequel to the movie, and it looks like it will get a makeover. JugJugg Jeeyo might not end up being the title of the upcoming release. Here are more details on the project…

JugJugg Jeeyo to get a spiritual sequel?

According to a report on PeepingMoon, JugJugg Jeeyo 2 will have a whole new story. Thus, it will follow what Dharma Productions movies like the Dulhania series, Dhadak and Student of the Year have followed – make a sequel with a new storyline. While there are not many details, JugJugg Jeeyo 2 is said to be related to a spiritual journey. It is to be noted that Karan has been hinting about a sequel ever since the movie was released in theatres in 2022. Raj is working on a script that is on par with the first part, if not excelling at balancing humour and drama to make JugJugg Jeeyo 2 a wholesome family entertainer as well.

Only Varun confirmed for the sequel?

It looks like JugJugg Jeeyo 2 will not only have a new story but also a new star cast. The only person expected to make a return is Varun Dhawan. He is likely to play the lead in the sequel too. This time around, Tiger Shroff might join the franchise. The news comes from the fact that Raj Mehta already wanted to direct an action movie with Varun and Tiger, but since that may not be happening in the near future, the two actors might just be in JugJugg Jeeyo sequel.

Dharma Productions’ upcoming projects

While JugJugg Jeeyo 2 is yet to have an official announcement, Dharma Productions has numerous projects in the pipeline. This includes Vicky Kaushal-Triptii Dimri’s Bad Newz, Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii’s Dhadak 2, Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, Akshay Kumar-Ananya Panday's Shankara, Kajol-Ibrahim Ali Khan-Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Sarzameen, and Ibrahim-Khushi Kapoor’s Naadaniyaan. All of these movies are scheduled for release soon, while Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and Ayushmann Khurrana-Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy have commenced shooting. The makers are also touted to be working on Salman Khan’s The Bull, Shashank Khaitan's Bedhadak, Kartik Aaryan-Sandeep Modi’s untitled next, Neeraj Ghaywan's next, and the Indian adaptation of the French comedy, The Intouchables.
