The long wait for John Abraham's upcoming movie Vedaa is finally coming to an end. The film has been passed with U/A certificate. Alongside, the CBFC has ordered nine-minute cut for the film. Here's everything we know...
Disclaimer edited
According to a report on Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Vedaa have been asked to edit the disclaimer itself. There is now a voiceover in the 1.16 minute disclaimer.
'Behenkhor' replaced
There is a dialogue in the film, in which the word 'behenkhor' has been used. The same is replaced with the word bana. The suggestion comes from the CBFC, amid the delay in the passing of the certificate.
Apart from this, the word 'Jodhpur' is muted. The same is a reference to Jodhpur High Court, which is among one of the important plot points in the film.
All that has been cut out of the film
A 2.16 minutes scene where a person is shown hanging, has been deleted. Visuals of violence inside the Jodhpur HC have also been reduced by 30 percent. Furthermore, visuals of tearing currency notes will be blurred.
A character in the film is seen listening to Sanskrit shlokas. The same has been now deleted. A text that clarifies 'Brahmin son... Shudra's son,' is also thrown out of the film.
A day back, the makers of Vedaa has complained of an 'unusual delay' by the CBFC in passing their movie through the board. The film was screened for members of CBFC on June 25.
Although starring John in the lead role, Vedaa also features Abhishek Banerjee and Sharvari Wagh in key roles, with Tamannaah Bhatia in a cameo appearance. The film is scheduled for Independence Day aka August 15 release (nearly a week from now), clashing with Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor's much-awaited Stree 2 (also starring Abhishek Banerjee as one of the key characters).
