Recent reports suggest that Rohit may embark on a standalone thriller with John Abraham prior to Golmaal 5. It has been indicated that the director has been in discussions with John for the past month. Nevertheless, this upcoming project will not be included in Rohit's cop universe.

John Abraham to star in Rohit Shetty's next?

Rohit Shetty is said to be developing a standalone action thriller featuring John Abraham in the lead role. Currently, the film is in the scripting phase. According to a report by Mid-Day, the director has been contemplating this project for an extended period.

Following the release of Singham Again [2024], the director commenced work on this new project while finalizing the script for Golmaal 5. He aims to explore themes beyond the typical cop narratives and comedy series. Preliminary discussions with John have already occurred. Should the scheduling align and the script be completed, filming for this action-oriented project could potentially begin as early as April. A definitive decision is expected by March, according to a source cited by the tabloid.

If everything proceeds as planned, this will mark John's inaugural professional partnership with Rohit. The current strategy involves filming over a continuous period of more than 45 days in Mumbai. "The actor and director have been in talks regarding potential dates. Both are eager to commence shooting during the summer, after which Rohit will transition to the filming of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15," the source further noted.

John Abraham's upcoming films

On the work front, John Abraham has an exciting lineup of films ahead. The actor will be seen in Tehran as Major Vikram Shergill. He also has a project called The Diplomat lined up for release. Besides these films, John will be seen in a film titled Tariq.
