Pathaan prequel to focus on John Abraham's Jim

In a recent discussion with The Hollywood Reporter India, John Abraham hinted at a prequel focusing on his character Jim from Pathaan. He remarked, “I believe he (Adi) understands my character well, and we are hopeful about developing a prequel that explores Jim before he becomes embittered. That project should be forthcoming.” John also expressed his desire to engage in diverse cinematic ventures.

The actor further indicated that he is not inclined to participate in large franchises unless he encounters something truly ‘extraordinary.’ When questioned if he was referring to Jim in Pathaan, John described it as quite ‘cool’ and ‘unique.’

John Abraham Jim to explore equation with Hrithik Roshan's Kabir?

Earlier, in a conversation with Pinkvilla, when asked about the potential exploration of Jim’s relationship with Hrithik Roshan’s character Kabir from War in the prequel, director Siddharth Anand responded, “Absolutely, why not? Anything is possible. It’s a universe, and the characters can be manipulated—it’s a creative playground. A prequel for Jim could certainly be on the table… Oh, and what if Jim is not actually dead? What if there’s a mechanism that deploys a parachute?”

Meanwhile, Pathaan is a 2023 action film that follows an Indian agent tasked with preventing a mercenary assault on India. The cast includes Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan, Deepika Padukone as Rubai, and John Abraham as Jim. The film is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
