The promotion for Jigra, the upcoming film starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in the lead roles, is ongoing. Following the release of Vedang's silhouette first look in the film, Alia has now unveiled her full-fledged first look, providing a glimpse into her captivating character. The actors play siblings in this Vasan Bala directorial effort, and it's one of the most-anticipated releases of the year.

Alia Bhatt's first look revealed as a fierce protector

In the new poster featuring Alia, the actor opts for a shielded look, which is metaphorical to the fact that she will go to any lengths to protect her brother Vedang Raina in the film. The poster features the actor donning a white shirt, black jeans, and a bulletproof vest. The poster shows her holding a hammer and a sharp weapon in one hand, poised to take command and emerge as the story's hero.

While sharing the poster, Alia captioned it in Hindi, "The story is very long, and my brother has very, very little time."

Vasan Bala's directorial action flick Jigra to release in October 2024

Vasan Bala helmed and penned the next action flick, Jigra. Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Alia Bhatt produced it under the banners of Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film will premiere in theatres on October 11, 2024.

Following the film's announcement, the makers revealed that Vedang will star alongside Alia. The announcement preceded the young actor's Netflix debut in Zoya Akhtar's The Archies in December 2023. This film will mark his big-screen debut.

Speaking about the same topic, a source close to the development told Pinkvilla last year that Vedang meets the requirements, adding that his performance in the rushes of The Archies impressed Karan and Vasan.

Alia and Vedang introduced themselves to one another through a series of screenplay reading sessions in August last year. Given the film's action-packed plot, the workshops also emphasised this aspect. According to the insider, "a prison break" is at the heart of the story.
