Jaat trailer: The trailer for Gopichand Malineni’s debut Hindi film, Jaat, featuring Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in leading roles, was unveiled on Monday. The footage depicts Sunny’s character threatening to dismantle Randeep’s ‘lanka’ while heroically intervening.

The nearly three-minute trailer introduces the setting of Jaat, showcasing ‘Ranatunga ki Lanka’—a beleaguered area under Randeep’s control, where the inhabitants are too intimidated to oppose him. Several corpses are discovered buried in a field, and Saiyami Kher’s police officer is informed that Ranatunga is responsible for these crimes. Regena Cassandrra’s character remarks that even God fears to enter this territory.

However, Sunny Deol’s character soon emerges as the savior. Hints suggest he has a past involving imprisonment, and Upendra Limaye refers to him as an ‘atom bomb’. The trailer concludes with him declaring, “Ye dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat pura north dekh chuka hain. Ab south dekhega. (The north has already witnessed the strength of this two-and-half-kilo arm. Now, the south will experience it.)”

Responses to the trailer varied, with some viewers expressing enthusiasm while others speculated whether the script was initially intended for Balakrishna. One Reddit user commented, “They had it in the first half, not gonna lie.” Another remarked, “Mass BGM, Dialogue Baazi, the film appears to be a winner. This is how to create a trailer.”

A Redditor speculated, “It seems Balakrishna wasn’t available, so the director opted for Sunny.” One individual even suggested that ‘Thaman cooked’. A user on X (formerly Twitter) likened it to the Sikandar trailer, stating, “What We Expected From #SikandarTrailer Is Delivered By #JaatTrailer. This Trailer Is Just Mass, Mass & Mass.”

Upon the announcement of the film in 2024, director Gopichand expressed to Hindustan Times, “Rather than feeling anxious about my debut in Bollywood, I am confident that it will turn out to be a great film. I crafted the script with the intention that it would suit someone like Sunny perfectly. This project transcends the typical mass elements characteristic of my previous works; it will feature a fast-paced narrative infused with realism. He is a prominent action star, I am known for mass appeal, and together we have an ideal script.”

Jaat is set to premiere in theaters on April 10 of this year.
