The official trailer was dropped a month ago, and it has already grabbed much attention, as the video garnered 4.4 million views on SonyLIV’s YouTube channel.

The Malayalam web series—Jai Mahendran, aka Bench Life will be released soon on October 11, 2024, only on SonyLIV. Interestingly, you can also watch the web series through OTTplay Premium. Jai Mahendran stars Saiju Kurup, Suhasini Maniratnam, Miya George, Suresh Krishna, Anand Manmadhan, Amith Mohan Rajeshwari, Johnny Antony, Renjit Shekar, Appuni Sasi, and Maniyanpilla Raju. The series is created by Rahul Riji Nair and directed by Srikanth Mohan.

Jai Mahendran plot overview

The series follows Mahendran, a master manipulator of bureaucracy, who spends his whole life navigating the system’s complexities, and the political landscape. However, when his influence grows surrounding him, fate has other plans. Director Srikanth Mohan’s take on Jai Mahendran

Recently in an interview, Srikanth Mohan, who made his directorial debut with the upcoming series Jai Mahendran talked about the difficulties of shooting, and how to keep a project up and running, and shared, “I know how hard it is to make a film, to make your first film. There are so many people who want to direct a film, but somehow it takes years to get that break.”

However, Srikanth also cleared the confusion that the web series is not made to insult government employees, as everyone in the crew are all aware of the difficulties the employees go through while doing their job. “We understand how difficult it sometimes gets for them to do their jobs as they tend to be tied down by the system as well. We have attempted to tell the story from both sides”, Mohan stated.

The web series Jai Mahendran will be available for streaming in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, on SonyLIV from October 11, 2024.
