Another Malayalam web series is on its way to the digital space soon. It has been confirmed that Saiju Kurup-starrer Jai Mahendran, which was earlier slated to release in February, will be streaming on SonyLiv from October 11. 

Jai Mahendran to stream on Sony LIV

It is anticipated that the political satire would be available in multiple languages on the online platform starting on October 11. The web series was supposed to debut in February of this year, but for reasons that are unclear, it was delayed. Sony LIV announced the new release date in a social media post today (September 6).

Recently, a number of Malayalam films made it to this streaming platform. Mammootty's Turbo and Nivin Pauly-starrer Varshangalkku Shesham is available on Sony LIV. Asif Ali and Biju Menon's investigative thriller will be accessible on it from September 10.

All about Saiju Kurup's Jai Mahendran

Srikanth Mohan is the director of the web series. Keedam and Kho-Kho fame Rahul Riji Nair has written Jai Mahendran's screenplay. Kerala Crime Files - Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara, which is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, was produced by Rahul, who made his directing debut in 2017 with Ottamuri Velicham, which won a Kerala State Film Award.

According to sources, Jai Mahendra tells the story of Mahendran, a crafty officer who achieves his objectives through powerplay and his contacts within the system. But when he gives in to the same powerplay, his freedom at work is curtailed and his values are called into doubt. He intends to manipulate a whole system to his benefit in an effort to keep his job and rebuild his reputation. Whether Mahendran can execute his complex plan is the central mystery of the web series.

In this political drama, important roles are played by Suhasini, Suresh Krishna, Miya, Balachandran Chullikad, Maniyanpilla Raju, Vishnu Govindan, Sidhartha Siva, Rahul Riji Nair, Appunni Sasi, Zhins Shan, and Renjit Shekhar.
