Jai Mahendran, the Malayalam web series featuring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, has been under production for a long time. The series, created by Rahul Riji Nair and directed by Srikanth Mohan, is gearing up to have its release on Sony LIV, soon. The series marks the streaming giant’s maiden web stories venture in the Malayalam film industry. As per the latest updates, Jai Mahendran will premiere on Sony LIV, in October 2024.

The streaming giant recently took to its official social media handles and shared a new trailer of Jai Mahendran, featuring leading man Saiju Kurup. The talented actor is impressive as the highly calculative and cunning politician Mahendran G in the promising glimpse of the political drama series. From the newly released trailer, it is safe to assume that Saiju Kurup will impress the audience with his excellent acting skills and impeccable comic timing in the series, which is a satirical take on Kerala’s current socio-political scenario.

Jai Mahendran OTT release date is out

As per the latest updates, Jai Mahendran will finally have its grand release on Sony LIV, on October 11, 2024. The streaming platform announced the exciting update with a social media post, recently. “A different political drama to make you laugh and think! Watch Jai Mahendran from October 11th on SonyLIV,” reads the Instagram post of Sony LIV. If the reports are to be believed, the Saiju Kurup show will be available for streaming in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, in the platform. More updates on the same are expected to be out very soon.

Jai Mahendran: Plot, Cast, and crew

As per the reports, the first-ever web series produced by SonyLIV will take the audience into the life of the titular character Mahendran G, played by Saiju Kurup. He is a clever politician, who has mastered the art of wielding power and influence within the bureaucratic system. But when he seems unstoppable, the same system he has mastered begins to turn against him. With his authority on the line, Mahendran must now find a way to reclaim his power dynamics. How Mahendran succeeds in implementing his carefully crafted plans, forms the crux of the story.

Along with Saiju Kurup, the much-awaited political drama series features an impressive cast, including Suhasini Maniratnam, Miya, Suresh Krishna, Mamukoya, Balachandran Chullikad, Vishnu Govindan, Sidhartha Siva, and Rahul Riji Nair. Jai Mahendran is produced by First Print Studios and directed by Srikanth Mohan, with Rahul Riji Nair serving as both showrunner and writer.
