The makers of the Malayalam upcoming web series, Jai Mahendran, have dropped a new promo today (September 21). The clip confirms that the web series will be streaming on Sony LIV from October 11, and further details will be revealed soon. It has also emphasised that the Saiju Kurup-starrer is much more than a political satire. Like previous promos, the latest video has also only shown Saiju and Rahul Riji Nair's characters. 

Jai Mahendran, first Malayalam web series on Sony LIV

The Srikanth Mohan directorial is Sony LIV's first Malayalam web series. Starting on October 11, it is expected that the Jai Mahendran would be accessible on the online platform in multiple languages. The web series was originally scheduled for release in February of this year, but it was postponed for unknown reasons. On September 6, Sony LIV revealed the revised release date through a social media post.

Many Malayalam films have just been added to this streaming platform. Sony LIV is home to Mammootty's Turbo and Nivin Pauly starrer Varshangalkku Shesham. Thalavan, the investigative thriller by Asif Ali and Biju Menon, also began streaming on September 10.

Jai Mahendran: All you need to know

The script for Jai Mahendran was written by Rahul Riji Nair. He is also playing a pivotal role in the web series. Suhasini, Suresh Krishna, Miya, Balachandran Chullikad, Maniyanpilla Raju, Vishnu Govindan, Sidhartha Siva, Rahul Riji Nair, Appunni Sasi, Zhins Shan, and Renjit Shekhar play significant roles in this political drama.

Sources claim that Jai Mahendran narrates the tale of Mahendran, a cunning officer who uses powerplay and his connections within the system to accomplish his goals. However, when he yields to the same powerplay, his independence at work is restricted, and his morality is questioned. In an attempt to preserve his employment and rebuild his reputation, he plans to take advantage of an entire system. The main intrigue of the web series is whether Mahendran can carry out his intricate scheme.
