Sunny Deol remains committed to the Jaat franchise. The actor revealed plans for a sequel titled Jaat 2 just one week after the first installment premiered in theaters. Notably, Jaat has not performed well at the box office since its debut. Nevertheless, the producers have approved a sequel, suggesting their belief in the film's potential to recoup its investment.

Sunny Deol On Thursday morning, he took to Instagram to unveil a poster for Jaat 2. In his post, he stated, "#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2". The poster reveals that Gopichand Malineni will return as the director for the sequel. Additionally, it lists the producers of the film: Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Y, and TG Vishwa Prasad. Mythri Movie Makers will also support the production of this sequel. So far, there has been no information regarding the cast, apart from the confirmation of Sunny's return.

Jaat, Sunny's inaugural pan-India action film also represents director Gopichand Malineni's debut in Hindi cinema. The movie features Randeep Hooda in the role of the antagonist, alongside a notable cast that includes Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, and Jagapathi Babu in significant roles. While critics offered a range of mixed to positive reviews, audiences have lauded the film for its action sequences and the performances of Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda.

However, Jaat has not achieved significant success at the box office. Released in theaters on April 10, the film debuted with a modest ₹9.50 crore in India and ₹13 crore globally. Over its first week, Jaat has garnered only ₹57.50 crore net in India and approximately ₹75 crore worldwide. With a decline in ticket sales, it appears unlikely that Jaat will surpass the ₹100-crore threshold globally, and it may face challenges in reaching that figure in India based on its net earnings. The announcement of a sequel, despite the film's underwhelming box office results, has surprised some within the industry.
