The announcement of Dupahiya featured the visage of a genuine crime reporter. A village that takes pride in its crime-free status experiences its first-ever criminal incident—the theft of a two-wheeler, referred to as Dupahiya. This marks the village's inaugural crime in 25 years, coinciding with their impending celebration of a quarter-century of being crime-free. Consequently, the narrative captures the attention of the entire village, as residents express concern over the first crime in nearly three decades.

Directed by Sonam Nair, Dupahiya is set in the fictional village of Dhakapur. The series boasts a talented cast, including Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava (playing the groom), Shivani Raghuvanshi (portraying the bride), and Yashpal Sharma in prominent roles. In addition to Dupahiya, Gajraj Rao is also set to appear in Dabba Cartel and Jaiprakash Ki Pratibha, both of which are expected to be released this year.

When and where to watch Dupahiya?

The creators have revealed the release date alongside a promotional video. Dupahiya will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting March 7. On the same day, the TV show The Waking of a Nation will premiere on SonyLIV (accessible through OTTplay Premium). It will be intriguing to observe which series captures the audience's attention on that date.
