This year saw the release of Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2, which did not do well with the audience. During the release of the film, Shankar had stated that a third part is in the making. A glimpse of sorts was also attached towards the end of Indian 3. Now, as per the latest buzz, it is speculated that Indian 3 is in talks with Netflix to release directly on OTT.

Indian 3 and The Test to have direct OTT release?

Indian 3 is expected to feature Kamal Haasan in a different avatar, and will be set in the pre-Independence era. Actor Kajal Aggarwal is expected to have more screen space in Indian 3. While it is known fact that Indian 2 received negative criticism from audience at the time of its release, the latest buzz suggests that Indian 3 will have a direct release on OTT. Netflix is in talks with makers, Lyca Productions. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made. In fact, during the promotions of Indian 2, Kamal Haasan had stated that he prefers Indian 3 over Indian 2, since it has much more to offer to the audience.

Meanwhile, there is also a strong buzz that The Test, an upcoming Tamil film starring actors Madhavan, Nayanthara, Meera Jasmine, and Siddharth, is also heading for direct OTT release on Netflix. The film marks the directorial debut of producer S Sashikanth, and is a cricket-based story. Shakthishree Gopalan is scoring the music for the film. Although the makers have not announced a release date yet.

Indian 3 is directed by Shankar and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Kamal Haasan plays Senapathy, a freedom fighter who turns into a vigilante to take action against corruption rampant in the society. Indian 3 will star Kamal Haasan, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and others.
