Indian 2, the second installment of the Indian franchise, hit theatres in July 2024. The Shankar directorial, which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role, was unable to recreate the magic of the original and ended up as a box-office disaster. After a disappointing box office run, Indian 2 had its OTT release on Netflix, on August 9, 2024. As expected, the Shankar directorial, which features Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, is getting brutally trolled for its bizarre scenes, making, and performances.

Indian 2 is Shankar’s worst film, say netizens

The Kamal Haasan-starrer, which hit the theatres after multiple delays, disappointed the audiences with its bizarre plot and making. After Indian 2 had its OTT release, the netizens are brutally trolling the Shankar directorial for being an absolutely painful watch. The disappointed film fanatics suggest that it is the master craftsman’s worst film to date. They are also heavily criticizing leading man Kamal Haasan for letting them down with the film, after making an iconic comeback with Vikram.

“This movie clearly shows the worst work of @shankarshanmugh. @ikamalhaasan sir sir this isn't expected from u. @anirudhofficial zaga zaga last 30 mns. Only +ve Siddharth (2nd half) & Calendar song,” wrote an internet user. “Indian 2 has released on #Netflix so that netizens can point out hundreds of mistakes,” reads a post. “I doubt whether Shankar directed Indian 2,” wrote a fan, who is disappointed with the film. “How can a legendary director turn into a clown director? Here’s an example: Indian 2,” wrote a highly disappointed cine-goer.

Indian 3 release plans

If the reports are to be believed, Indian 3 will hit the big screens by the first quarter of 2025. The movie will majorly focus on the life of Veerasekharan Balram and Dakshayini, the parents of central character Senapathy, who was a part of the freedom struggle. Kamal Haasan himself appears as Veerasekharan in the film, while Kajal Aggarwal appears as Dakshayini. A major announcement on the release of Indian 3 release date is expected to be out, very soon.
