Rakshit Shetty’s banner Paramvah Studios has a dedicated audience, not only in Karnataka, but outside too. And this set of viewers has been asking for the production house’s latest, Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, to be made available to them, ever since the film released back home on September 6. The fact that Chandrajith Belliappa’s directorial debut opened to overwhelmingly positive feedback, from critics and audiences alike, following which the film has been recording increased footfalls and shows, has now ensured that the makers are seriously looking at giving it a wider release.
Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali outside Karnataka release
“On September 13, we will release Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali in select screens outside Karnataka, in metro cities like Chennai. Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. The list of screens and shows will be available by September 12,” says Chandrajith, adding that the film’s overseas release will be a week later, on September 20.
Release challenges faced by Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali
Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali began its theatrical run amid severe limitations, as it was in direct competition with Thalapathy Vijay’s The G.O.A.T. In fact, Chandrajith had taken to social media about the challenge posed by unfavourable show timings in multiplexes, but despite this, audiences began finding their way to movie halls, and encouraged by the numbers, the show scheduling was changed around in the film’s favour.
The film, stars Vihan, Ankita Amar and Mayuri Nataraja in lead roles as Siddharth Ashok, Anahita and Radha, respectively. It follows Siddharth and Anahita’s budding romance, only for them to then part ways. Years later, on the verge of ‘moving on’, Siddharth realizes that he still holds a torch for Anahita and needs to figure out if she is still the one for him or if he can find closure if she’s moved on and happy in life.
The film brought Geethanjali-fame Girija Shettar back to Kannada cinema as Anahita’s mother, Madhumita. The visually pleasing story-telling and performances apart, Gagan Baderiya’s soundtrack for Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali has been called out as a major highlight.
