It’s been more than a month since the release of Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, a beautiful love story that marked the directorial debut of Chandrajith Belliappa, and was backed by actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s banner, Paramvah Studio. Chandrajith is one of the Seven Odds writers at Paramvah Studios and the last to turn director. The film had a slow start, growing gradually on the back of positive word of mouth from critics and audiences. Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is still in theatres, but we now hear that an OTT outing may not be far off.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali headed to Amazon Prime Video

According to sources, Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali has found a streaming partner. It was initially heard that Zee Network had shown interest in the film, but according to the latest, the streaming rights have gone to Amazon Prime Video. A release date, of course, has not been forthcoming from the streamer.

The buzz in industry circles is that the next big Kannada release on the platform will be Golden Star Ganesh’s hit film Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, which is expected during the Dasara festivities, given that it has had a successful 50-day run in theatres. Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali will be the next one, probably closer to Deepavali. Of course, all this will be confirmed only closer to the actual release, if there is an official announcement, or when the films become available on the platform.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, meanwhile, follows two main characters – Vihan as Sid and Ankita as Anahita – their budding romance, which falters along the way. Many years later, Sid sets out to find Anahita to see if their relationship can be rekindled or if she has moved on, which will set him free. Whether or not Sid and Anahita have their happily-ever-after is what the film is about.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, which has great music by Gagan Baderiya, brought Geetanjali fame Girija Shettar back to cinema, as Ankita’s mother.
