Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, the latest film from the stable of actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios, had a slow start at the box office, but made substantial progress over the course of the next few weeks, solely on the strength of the positive response from audiences who saw the romantic drama. The film, which marked the directorial debut of Chandrajith Belliappa, a long-time member of Paramvah Studios’ writing team Seven Odds, recently completed 50-days at the box office.

In the last few weeks, the buzz was that the team had cracked a streaming deal for the film, with sources suggesting that Amazon Prime Video is the OTT destination. The source further adds that the film is already with the streamer and that it will be available for streaming shortly. A Deepavali release is likely, says the source, hinting at October 31 or November 1 as the likely date, adding that it will be no later than the first week of November.

The film’s initial limited release, in just about 40 screens, was a strategic move, Chandrajith had said, even though he had rued the logistics of screen and show timing allocation. The film had, after all, released along with Thalapathy Vijay’s The G.O.A.T. The filmmaker explained that at the time of the film’s release, awareness about it had not penetrated enough to warrant a 200-screen release.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali stars Vihan and Ankita Amar in the lead, with Mayuri Nataraj and Girija Shettar offering solid support. The story revolves around Vihan’s character Siddharth Ashok, a hot-headed collegian and avid cricketer, whose cricket aspirations are cut short when he meets with an accident and injures his leg, shortly after meeting a girl he feels attracted to.

A while later, they meet again, and the semblance of a relationship develops, only to then have them go their separate ways. Years later, on the threshold of moving on and marrying Radha (Mayuri), Sid realizes that he can never wholeheartedly be with someone else until and unless he knows what became of Ankita. What happens when the duo meets again is what the film is about.
