Chandrajith Belliappa has been a part of Rakshit Shetty’s Seven Odds writing team for quite a while, but it is only now that he is making baby steps as a filmmaker. His debut, Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, which Rakshit has produced, is set for theatrical release on September 5. Speaking about his association with Chandrajith, Rakshit recalled receiving a link to a blog post on social media, which, for some reason, he felt compelled to check out.

Why Rakshit trusts Chandrajith Belliappa as a filmmaker

Over the years, Rakshit says that he knew that if and when Chandrajith makes a film, it would be a romantic drama. “Since I had read the blog, I also knew what to expect if he made a romantic film,” he adds. That confidence apart, what really drew the 777 Charlie actor to Chandrajith was the honesty that he perceived in the latter, not only in terms of his filmmaking sensibilities, but as a human being as well.

“When someone has talent and honesty, that is something to look forward to. I truly believe that when a person like Chandrajith then makes a film, it is the need of the hour for the industry. The industry was also in need of a filmmaker who can make films like this. I believe that Chandrajith will inspire a whole new set of filmmakers,” says Rakshit, adding, “Romance is a genre that most can do, but you need to be a romantic at heart to do it effectively, which, I believe, Chandrajith is.”

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is a love story featuring Vihan, Ankita Amar and Mayuri Nataraj in the lead. While the primary love story is that between Vihan’s Siddharth and Ankita’s Anahita, Mayuri as Radha, also has a pivotal role. The film’s music has been well received, as also the trailer, with netizens hailing the dreamy visuals.
