OTTplay had earlier reported that Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, the romantic film directed by Chandrajith Belliappa for Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios, would be headed to Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run. The film, which released in theatres on September 6, recently celebrated 50 days at the box office, around which time it was rumoured that the makers had already uploaded the content on the streamer’s platform and were awaiting final clearance to announce its streaming date.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali gets Kannada Rajyotsava OTT release

A source had told OTTplay that a Deepavali release was very likely and that just in case it doesn’t appear then, it would be no later than November 6. In a not too cryptic post on social media, Chandrajith hinted that the film would be available from November 1. He wrote, “November 1 – Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali and…”

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali had released alongside Thalapathy Vijay’s The G.O.A.T and had a slow start at the box office. The film, led by Vihan and Ankita Amar, with Mayuri Nataraj and Girija Shettar in pivotal roles, received largely positive feedback, with audiences calling it Kannada cinema’s La La Land, among others. The film’s beautiful visuals and music were highly appreciated, although its slow pace was seen as a minor deterrent.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali follows a young collegian Siddartha Ashok (Vihan) and his budding relationship with Anahita (Ankita). They are then separated for several years, with Sid unable to move on unless and until he knows for sure if there’s still hope of rekindling the embers he feels for Anahita, or if she’s found her happily-ever-after with someone else.

The film, according to Chandrajith, had been made on a budget of Rs 6 crore. The makers have not revealed if they recovered this with the theatrical outing, given that they’d grown from an initial 40 screen outing to three times that within a few days.
