The Mulk and Article 15 director has now helmed a web series titled IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The makers, while announcing the show with Vijay Varma and Dia Mirza in the lead, revealed a very intriguing teaser. Now, they have shared a new teaser along with a release date, and things just got very exciting. The show is jointly backed by Netflix, Matchbox Shots, and Benaras Mediaworks and is set to hit the streaming giant in August itself.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack on Netflix

For the unversed, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is based on the tragic hijack that took place on December 24, 1999. Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 took off for New Delhi from Kathmandu, unaware that there were armed terrorists on board who would take it on a seven-day dramatic journey of terror and life-threatening danger. With IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, Anubhav Sinha makes his streaming debut, having also created and written the show for Netflix. The series stars some of the biggest and finest actors from the world of cinema and streaming, including Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, along with Vijay Varma, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Patralekhaa, Amrita Puri, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, and Squid Game star Anupam Tripathi.
