Actor Huma Qureshi is set to return with the fourth season of her OTT series, Maharani. On Monday, the production team unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming season. This teaser suggests a significant transformation in her character, who evolves into a bold and formidable presence in the competitive realm of politics, dedicated to safeguarding Bihar.

The teaser generates intrigue regarding the plot, showcasing Huma in a resolute posture, prepared to defend her state at any cost. It notably emphasizes her character, leaving viewers in suspense about the destinies of the other figures in the series.

In the video, Huma expresses that while some have labeled her as uneducated, others have accused her of murder, and some even envision her as a future Prime Minister.

She further declares her deeper connection to her family than to political power, stating, “And Bihar is my true family. If anyone attempts to harm my family, I will shake the very foundations of authority.”

The teaser indicates that Rani Bharti will confront new challenges and assert her influence like never before, navigating through power struggles and betrayals. The release date has yet to be announced.

The Maharani world

The series features Huma in the role of Rani Bharati and is set against the backdrop of Bihar, delving into the state's political landscape with elements drawn from real-life events. The inaugural season debuted on SonyLIV in 2021, followed by the second season in 2022. The third season was made available on SonyLIV on March 7, 2024. Maharani was created by Subhash Kapoor and directed by Saurabh Bhave, with the writing contributions of Subhash Kapoor, Nandan Singh, and Umashankar Singh. The cast also includes Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Sohum Shah.

In a discussion with, Huma attributed her career's "reinvention" to the rise of OTT platforms. She remarked, “I can distinctly differentiate my career before and after Maharani. That series was pivotal in garnering attention for my capabilities. Its success allowed others to envision me in roles that were previously unimaginable. Furthermore, Maharani is set to have a fourth season. More than my own achievements, my success on OTT has instilled greater confidence in the creators regarding my abilities. As artists, we may possess self-confidence, but opportunities to demonstrate our potential are essential, as actors ultimately rely on others for employment.”
