There is no way you are not hooked on everything that is happening in Westeros folklore. With House of the Dragon Season 2 wrapped up, the makers have teased The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for 2025, and George R.R. Martin has confirmed seven more spinoffs in the making. So, with so much commotion on the Game of Thrones wing at the HBO office, how can we not report the updates coming out? We are now curious to know when House of the Dragon Season 3 will be released on Max and how long we will have to wait. While there is The Hedge Knight show in 2025 to ease the anticipation, we still need HOTD. Showrunner Ryan Condal has now cleared up a lot of doubts, also revealing when the show ends.
Yes, you read that right. Unlike Game of Thrones, where the audience wasn't aware of how the show would end and curiosity was at its peak, the nature of House of the Dragon is the reverse. Everyone knows the end, but it is the journey that is more exciting than the end goal. However, fans have been curious to know what the future holds for the show. The showrunner has now revealed when the third season will go on floors and how many more seasons are left. Read on to learn everything you should know about the same.
House of the Dragon Future
According to Comic Book Movie, Ryan Condal has confirmed that House of the Dragon Season 3 won't go on floors before 2025. The makers are set to begin filming the show around early 2025, which means the wait for the same will be close to two years. The filmmaker has teased a massive war at this point, stating that the scale amps up in season 3, with many great events already written into it.
"There are so many great events that we are already writing in season 3 as it is. This war really comes to a big head at this point in the storytelling. I mean, if you look at season 2, it’s largely a metaphor for a nuclear conflict. There’s gonna be giant moments of spectacle but real moments of surprise and character nuance that we’re very much looking forward to. Some of my favourite moments in the book, as a reader, I’m excited to adapt as a dramatist,” Condal said.
House of the Dragon Ends with Season 4
With a story that is limited and not as vast as the original HBO series, fans have always been curious to know how many seasons the show will have. Ryan Condal has cleared that doubt too, confirming that House of the Dragon Season 4 will be the end of the Game of Thrones spinoff. When asked about the episode count and whether they will stick to the season 2 format, he said they are yet to discuss that, but one thing is sure—the drama and the nature remain the same. He said, "I haven’t had discussions with HBO about it. I would just anticipate that the cadence of the show, from a dramatic storytelling perspective, will continue to be the same from Season 2 on."
House of the Dragon Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on JioCinema in India and on Max worldwide. Stay tuned to Mobile Masala for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
