Chaitanya Rao broke into the limelight with the success of his series 30 weds 21, which won the hearts of many. Honeymoon Express was produced by KKR and Bala Raj and had music by Kalyani Malik. The family drama was directed by Bala Rajasekharuni and also had veterans Tanikella Bharani and Suhasini in cameos.

Hebah Patel was praised for her solid performance in the film. Honeymoon Express dealt with the topic of love, marriage, and divorce in a very bold manner. As divorce rates in India are rapidly increasing, the film through the characters of Suhasini and Bharani gives a nice message to the audience.
