Rajavardan, the offspring of renowned actor Dingri Nagaraj, made his debut as a lead actor in the 2020 historical drama Bicchugatti: Chapter 1 – Dalavayi Dange. He has now marked his third film release with 'Hiranya', an action thriller in which he portrays a hitman. The film, which premiered in theatres in July 2024 and received mixed reviews, features a cast that includes Rihana, Divya Suresh, Huli Karthik, and Dileep Shetty, among others. It has now secured a digital distribution partner.

Hiranya was released on Sun NXT on March 15, marking it as the fourth Kannada film recently added to the platform, following Dhanveerrah’s Kaiva, Prajwal Devaraj’s Gana, and Dharma Keerthiraj’s Tenant. Directed by newcomer Prawin Avyukth, Hiranya is exclusively available in Kannada audio. This film also marks Rajavardan’s debut as an action hero.

In the storyline, Rajavardan portrays Raana, a hired hitman tasked with the kidnapping or assassination of a newborn. The infant's life is threatened after her affluent father dies under mysterious circumstances in a car accident, putting the mother’s safety in jeopardy as well. Upon capturing the baby, Raana initially intends to complete his assignment but soon discovers information that compels him to reconsider his actions and ultimately take on the role of the child's protector.

Upon its release, the actor garnered acclaim for his performance, particularly during the numerous action sequences. However, some critics noted that the feasibility of certain stunts was questionable, especially considering that the actor was often depicted holding a baby during these scenes.

Rajavardan, who recently appeared in the sports drama Gajarama, released earlier this year, was recently reported stating that his familial ties to the film industry have not significantly benefited him. Despite being the son of an actor, he did not receive an easy entry into the industry and has been making his way solely through his talent.
