Nearly four months after its theatrical debut, the Malayalam horror-comedy Hello Mummy, featuring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sharafudheen in leading roles, has finally made its way to OTT platforms. Directed by Vaisakh Elans, the film is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Malayalam.

The release on the platform was relatively low-key, likely due to the fact that it is exclusively accessible in Malayalam, despite the film being highly anticipated as a family-friendly option.

The film, which premiered in November alongside Basil Joseph and Nazriya Nazim's Sookshmadarshini, performed more favorably than Parakramam and Njan Kandatha Saare, both of which were released during the same period. Additionally, Njan Kandatha Saare is set to start streaming on Manorama Max in March 2025.

Hello Mummy centers on a newly married couple, Boney and Steffy. Following their marriage, Boney (played by Aishwarya) agrees to reside with Steffy and her father. His primary challenge is to win over his mother-in-law, who has been deceased for 22 years, yet her spirit continues to inhabit the family home. The narrative unfolds as Boney navigates life with a ghostly presence, adhering to the peculiar rules she imposes, which adds a comedic twist to the storyline.

The cast includes Johny Antony, Jagadish, Aju Varghese, Joemon Jyothir, Adhri Joe, and Binu Panicker. Additionally, Bollywood actor Sunny Hinduja portrays the antagonist, a member of an immortal race that seeks to capture pure souls that manage to evade their grasp. This element also paves the way for a sequel to the film.

Reasons to watch Hello Mummy on OTT

The movie features amusing performances from its male actors, including Sharafudheen, Jagadish, and Joemon Jyothir. With a runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes, the inclusion of child-friendly scenes makes it an excellent choice for a family outing during the weekend.
