In the world of superheroes, spanning every possible universe, if we had to form a clan of black sheep, the leader would undoubtedly be the Right Hand of Doom, Hellboy. A superhero introduced far from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe, Hellboy exists in his own realm, where he sits with pride even today. The character is so complex that the movies caught eyeballs instantly. But there is a catch. You can either love Hellboy or not care about it, and there is no in-between. That patch doesn't exist at all in this world.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man New Look
So when Hellboy: The Crooked Man was confirmed, everyone was super excited because there was something new to look forward to. About Hellboy: The Crooked Man
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is directed by Brian Taylor and penned by creator Mike Mignola alongside Dark Horse Comic collaborator Chris Golden. The official synopsis for Hellboy: The Crooked Man reads, "Stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man, a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy's past."
Creator Mike Mignola called The Crooked Man the best story. In a chat with Variety, he said, “For years, we’ve been saying, if you’re going to make a Hellboy movie, make it small. And the perfect story to do that with is my personal favorite, ‘The Crooked Man.’ I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written. It’s beautifully illustrated by Richard Corben, and it’s a solid story that doesn’t involve a million different characters. Everybody actually agreed from the very beginning, ‘Yes, we want to do that one.’”
The initial Hellboy movies are available on Lionsgate Play, and you can even watch them with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
