Hellbound season 2 ending explained: After Yoon Ah-in's Jin-soo, is Kim Hyun-joo's Hye-jin destined for hell?

Hellbound season 2 made sure to keep the mystery from season 1 alive. The characters who were gone are still that - they are gone. They were not that missed and now, things have taken a turn for the worse. While Yoon Ah-in's Park Jung-soo found hell once again, hell comes chasing Kim Hyun-joo's Min Hye-jin. This is despite her trying to keep the dignity of people intact till their very last moment, unlike New Truth and Arrowhead. Here's what happened in the ending that brought hell upon her...

Yoon Ah-in turns a monster who sends a decree and transports people to hell

Hellbound has revolved around monsters who take people's souls and leave them hellbound. They are demons who send a decree to a human about to die and find that human in their last moment to burn the flesh. Season 2 hinted at the soul of these humans travelling through time and still being at the mercy of the monsters.

In the last episode of Hellbound season 2, Yoon Ah-in, who was resurrected and joined Arrowhead, started seeing the monsters coming for an attack every time he was in front of the mirror. They disappeared when a fellow resurrected human Park Jung-ja (Kim Shin-rok) was around him. He no longer saw the monsters because in a few moments, he was going to transform into a monster himself. While he was being transformed, Jin-soo pleaded with Hye-jin to save him. He also grabbed a hold of Jung-ja in desperation but Hye-jin saved Jung-ja from his grasp and despite him turning powerful, she managed to drive off with Jung-ja in her car.

Is Park Jung-ja a danger to Min Hye-jin?

So far, Jung-ja has not proven herself as a threat. However, given Jin-soo's transformation, it would only be right to expect the unexpected. And although Jung-ja might not be a threat to Hye-jin, the former lawyer does have a major threat in the most unexpected being.

Soo-hyun's baby is a threat to Min Hye-jin

Yes, Soo-hyun's baby, who is the sole survivor after receiving the decree, is currently the biggest threat to humankind and more so, to Hye-jin. The baby and Hye-jin make a promise to stay together, but the deeper truth that was hidden so far was revealed in the very last scene. This baby, who is now a teen, had died in the arms of her parents. After dying, she came back to life but with different, glowing eyes. This is unlike Jung-ja or Jin-soo, who came back as humans and were left confused. The baby, though, was a completely different case. She started crying like nothing happened. The parents though, were burnt to a crisp and never returned. In fact, there is probably no return for them since the twisted Arrowhead streamer had scattered their burned body in order to find and kill the baby. His plan failed when the monsters came for him as planned, five minutes after the baby (and parents) died. It is owing to this incident that the Arrowhead members got the idea of sacrificing their own lives (thinking that others can survive if they give up on their own lives by burning to a crisp under the wrath of the confused monsters).
