Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's film Sanam Teri Kasam had its theatrical release in 2016. The Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru directorial didn't do well commercially but earned critical acclaim for its music and performances. 8 years after the film was released, there's a buzz about a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam being made. According to the Hindustan Times report, the sequel might not feature the original star cast.

Sanam Teri Kasam's sequel to be made?

The news report suggests Sanam Teri Kasam is expected to get a sequel but it is at a very nascent stage right now. "The makers want to make a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam. However, it is at a very nascent stage currently. They have only started the casting process of the film, so it is still in pre-production. It will feature a new cast; the makers didn't want to repeat the actors," a source told HT.

As per the source, the auditions are currently going on for the main leads. That said, the makers will soon begin looking for a supporting star cast. The movie is reportedly titled Jaanam Teri Kasam. 

More details about Sanam Teri Kasam's sequel

The source further revealed that Sanam Teri Kasam's sequel will be a musical film. As of now, the makers are looking for a young female lead who can sing and has the vibe of a singer. Sanam Teri Kasam's sequel might have a vibe similar to Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur's Aashiqui 2. 

Harshvardhan Rane's projects in 2024

Meanwhile, on the work front, Harshvardhan Rane was last seen in Savi with Divya Khossla. The film hit the silver screen on May 31, 2024. The actor was seen as Nakul Sacheva in the Abhinay Deo directorial. Before Savi was released, Harshvardhan featured in Bejoy Nambiar's Dange. He shared screen space with Ehan Bhat and Nikita Dutta in the film. It arrived in cinemas on March 1, 2024.
