It is finally revealed that the man BTS' Jin addressed as hyung in Run BTS promo was indeed his old friend Lee Yi-kyung. An actor by profession, Yi-kyung is more popularly known as the Gwenchana guy because of his viral scene from Welcome to Waikiki. He is going to be the latest guest to join Jin on Run BTS, which also means that the episode with TxT's Yeonjun came to an end. Here's everything you wanted to know about Jin and Lee Yi-kyung's friendship...

How did Jin and Lee Yi-kyung meet?

For the uninitiated, Kim Seok-jin wanted to initially become an actor. He took acting classes in school, which is where he met Lee Yi-kyung. At the time, Yi-kyung was 23 years old while Jin was touching 19. Furthermore, Yi-kyung had just completed his military service (Jin has hosted Run Jin after completing his service).

The parting of ways

Jin and Yi-kyung joined different universities and pursued different professions. While Yi-kyung became an actor, Jin joined BTS and pursued singing over acting. To date, Jin has not acted in a project. However, Yi-kyung had pointed out that the World Wide Handsome was really handsome even then.

Jin greeted his hyung years later

In 2018, Yi-kyung attended a music awards show, where Jin was also there with his six members (Jin is the eldest among them). Yi-kyung actually walked out of stage, and Jin was the one to go running behind him to call him out as 'hyung.' Knowing that fame can change a person, he did not expect Jin to greet him, but the singer did, and went many steps ahead to do so even. Yi-kyung was grateful for that, and the two stayed in touch since.

In the upcoming episode, Jin and Yi-kyung will be playing tennis. It is a sport that Jin enjoys thoroughly and was seen playing with his BTS member J-Hope often. On that note, J-Hope is also going to be discharged from military in October. So, we might get to see more of such videos once again, along with the members pursuing their own projects and most probably collaborating for a track till the other members are discharged from the military.
