Govinda, whose wife Sunita's alleged divorce has been in the news, recently had an unscripted chat with Mukesh Khanna. In an interview with the seasoned actor's YouTube channel, Govinda made the outrageous assertion that James Cameron gave him an unbelievable Rs 18 crore for the lead role in Avatar. The actor went on to say that he had even given the filmmaker a suggestion for the film's title.
Govinda's shocking claim about Avatar
Govinda noted that he recalls this incident vividly due to the significant distress he experienced when he had to decline an offer of Rs 21.5 crore. Several years later, he encountered a Sardarji in the United States and presented him with a promising business proposal, subsequently introducing him to Cameron. The actor extended an invitation to both Govinda and the filmmaker for dinner to discuss his film project. The film, titled Avatar, was one that he had selected. However, after learning from Cameron that the main character would have a disability, the actor chose not to participate in the film. The filmmaker then provided Govinda with Rs 18 crore and informed him that he had 410 days to complete the filming. In response, the actor remarked that if body painting was required, he would see him in the hospital.
Govinda emphasized that the human body is their sole instrument. Regarding his career, Govinda will be making his big-screen comeback after a six-year hiatus. The actor revealed on The Great Indian Kapil Show with Kapil Sharma that he is releasing three films this year.
