Actor Salman Khan has made a striking announcement regarding his forthcoming film, Sikandar. He asserts that the action thriller is set to surpass the ₹200 crore milestone at the box office, irrespective of its quality.
Salman Khan guarantees Sikandar's success
At the trailer launch event held in Mumbai on Sunday, Salman shared his optimistic outlook for the project, expressing his belief that the film will be successful.
He stated, “Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive or non-festive, it’s the affection of the audience that ensures a film earns ₹100 crore, whether it is good or bad.”
He then amended his statement, confidently predicting that this film will exceed the ₹200 crore threshold, remarking, “₹100 crore is a thing of the past.”
Salman's filmography includes numerous commercially successful movies, with several achieving membership in the ₹100 crore club. This trend began with the 2010 hit Dabangg, which marked a significant milestone as the first film in his career to break the ₹100 crore barrier, earning ₹140.22 crore in India, according to Sacnilk. Other films that have crossed this mark include Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (₹110.94 crore), Jai Ho (₹117.2 crore), Tubelight (₹119.26 crore), Bodyguard (₹148.52 crore), Dabangg 3 (₹151.45 crore), Race 3 (₹169.5 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹320.34 crore), and Tiger Zinda Hai (₹339.16 crore).
Sikandar trailer released
On Sunday, Salman participated in the trailer launch event in Mumbai alongside the film's team, including Rashmika Mandanna. The trailer showcased Salman in a grand persona, with the action-driven narrative centering on his character's quest to dismantle a crime syndicate in Mumbai. Rashmika portrays the role of Salman's romantic interest in the film.
The film is helmed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his work in Tamil and Hindi cinema, including titles like Ghajini, Thuppakki, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, and Sarkar. Salman’s Sikandar is set to premiere in theaters on Eid 2025. The project is produced under the banner of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
