The past couple of months have been all about Rohit Shetty’s cop universe in Hindi cinema, especially with the release of Singham Again. Featuring a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff, it was definitely the buzz of the town. Now that the film has wrapped up its run in theaters and is gearing up for its digital release, Rohit and Ajay are already diving into their next venture, Golmaal 5, which they’ve confirmed. According to recent reports, Golmaal 5 is in the works, and pre-production has kicked off. So, here’s what we know about the future of this beloved franchise and when we might see it hit the screens.

Kicking off in 2006, the Golmaal franchise revolves around four main stars: Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Arshad Warsi. Over the years, a bunch of other actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Mithun Chakraborty have also hopped on board for the ride across the four films. The series includes Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, and Golmaal Again, which have been keeping audiences laughing for nearly two decades. So, it’s no surprise that everyone’s buzzing about the upcoming fifth installment.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit Shetty shared that he’s gearing up to work on Golmaal 5. After wrapping up a huge project like Singham Again, he’s ready to switch gears and dive into something more fun and comedic. "I think Golmaal will be the next film before any cop film. I am looking forward to making Golmaal after a big project like Singham. It is light and cheerful,” Rohit said..

In a recent chat, Rohit Shetty shared his thoughts on stepping away from the cop genre, saying, "I want to take a break from the cop universe... I've been making cop films since 2008, and now I'm really excited to dive into comedy... Golmaal is on the way," and added, "I’m eager to explore a lighter, happier world after Singham, where I can just enjoy myself."

If Rohit Shetty starts working on Golmaal 5 now, we might see it hit theaters by early 2026. There's a possibility he could aim for a Christmas 2025 release, but that seems unlikely since nothing is set in stone yet, at least not that we know of.

As for the cast, there’s no word on who will be in the film. It’s unclear if the story will pick up from the last installment featuring Parineeti Chopra and Tabu or if it will introduce a brand-new plot. One thing we do know is that Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Arshad Warsi will definitely be back..
